The Militant Reserve of the
SWAPO Party
Born from the anti-colonial struggle, the SPYL is the active, revolutionary transmitting belt of the SWAPO Party ideology, policies, and programmes.
Our Mandate
To defend Namibia's hard-won independence, protect our territorial integrity, and instill a spirit of patriotism and heroism in the youth of today and tomorrow.
Aims & Objectives
- • Combat nepotism, tribalism, and corruption.
- • Promote gender equality and protect the vulnerable.
- • Advance economic emancipation and youth employment.
Membership
Open to every Namibian citizen between 18 and 35 years who subscribes to the aims of the SWAPO Party. Minors (6-18) join via the Pioneer Movement.
Governance
Democratic Structure
The Congress
The highest decision-making body, held every 5 years to elect leadership and adopt policies.
Central Committee
The highest authority between Congresses, composed of 50 members including Regional Secretaries.
National Executive
Responsible for daily policy formulation and implementation, led by the Secretary.
